We also went over the 6 Traits Writing Model for Assessment and Instruction - we did this to help us understand how and why we are being assessed and how to assess.
Carrie will hand back our papers by next week. :)
1/9/13
Carrie was out sick today - we checked off the 6 Traits paper and a few students read them - we wrote down some of the descriptive words that each author had and also discussed how we improved them. Several students decided to take back their paper and add some more descriptive words to it.

We discussed town dumps.
We then read "The Town Dump" by Wallace Stegner in groups of 2-3 and "graded" it with the 6 Traits Writing Rubric.
